Contest! Win a Nasty Little Earth Spirit Pet!
Yes, my battle team smacked down that Thundering Spirit to prise that Earth Spirit out of its hands. After all the pain that Thundering Spirit has put me through I didn’t feel the least bit guilty either. HA! In fact I did it again and again and ended up with a surplus. This morning I received my wonderful poem from Navi and I had an epiphany!
I love all things (except you, Minfernal) battle pet related. Ratshag has a battle pet story that I’ve gone back and reread I don’t know how many times.
Matty told the tale of Mrs. Whitworth saving the day, I loved it. When I read Navi’s ode to Minfernal I thought selfishly, hey, maybe I can bribe people to write more for ME ME ME!
So if you have a tale to tell about your favorite battle pet, an epic tamer battle or anything related to battle pets I would so love to read it. A story, a poem, whatever you like. If you would link your post here so I can find you, or if you don’t have a blog just post your story or poem in a comment here.
Oh February 1st I will take all the names and /roll for each one. Yes, I’m taking the chicken way out. I am not going to pick because, if you know me, all you’d have to do would be write a dog story, and YAY, you won. See … I’m not that objective.
On February 2 (my dog’s birthday) I will post the winner and then endeavor to reach your server to mail your Earth Spirit to you. I am not a world traveler like Navi, so I don’t know how to get on European servers. So shipping only works to US or Oceanic, if you’re on a European server you’d have to slog your way to US Fenris.
My devious plot begins! Will I be able to get more battle pet stories and poems to read? Only time will tell, squeeeee, got my fingers crossed!
Thank you so much Navi! I love my poem, can’t say the same for Minfernal, BUT his poem I love!

Good luck to all who enter!
Me? Oh, I don’t have a tale –you have to actually play that part of the game, you know, to have a story– but I can mention the hordes of blue dragonkin I slew for the Azure Whelping back in the day. I think it took me over a month of steady whacking (in between Wrath instance runs) for one to finally drop.

I remember having a Azure Whelpling drop for me after just a few mobs and I stupidly thought, oh, it’s that easy to get? I’ll just sell it and get another. Needless to say it was a long time before I had my Whelpling!

After my Azure Whelping adventure I never got that Emerald Whelping, even after camping that area outside of Stonard for weeks. Cataclysm came up waaay too quickly….

OMG. Your dog’s birthday is the same day as mine! squeeeee!!
Also, how did I NOT know that ratshag had a pet battle blog? I’ve been missing out!

Yay! Groundhog Day babies! I’ve gotten a lot of great pet battle tips from his blog. Because of him I discovered how great Scorpids are at leveling up low level pets.

Good luck to all the entrants. I also recall my quest to find a red whelping back in vanilla. It took me about three weeks to do it. I was so sick of the wetlands after that!
I think all my pet battle stories are all on my blog already LOL.
January 17, 2013 at 10:23 am
I STILL don’t have one and I spent many, many, hours bonking things in Wetlands and still no drop.

I think Mrs. killed less than twenty to get hers. I didn’t know what to say at that point other than shake my head at her insane luck with the RNG.
January 17, 2013 at 12:58 pm
Oh! The Missus is one of those lucky RNG people! I’m jealous, lol!

I’m glad you like the poem! I will write you one but I don’t want to the in the safari hat. I have just the thing!
January 17, 2013 at 3:22 pm
Yay! I’m going to get another one? This is too wonderful! Okay, I won’t put you in my smelly old safari hat, lol.

molly is very pleased that you like her little story

I loved Molly’s story, be sure to tell her master is pleased with her!

Does the story I wrote the other day about how I finally became convinced to try Pet Battles count, or should I write a new one?
January 18, 2013 at 6:51 am
The FFW one? Yes! I got a big chuckle out of that because us battle pet addicts, er, enthusiasts love it when someone else joins the fold!
January 18, 2013 at 12:12 am
Um, well, 1400+ words later, and not only do you have a (long-winded) story, but I have a Whelpling. Yes, sorry, THAT Whelpling. http://nonsquishyheals.blogspot.com/2013/01/saundin-rescuer-tales-of-saundin-part-ii.html

Thank you Sohei! A wonderful story of battle pet dedication with a happy ending! Mine was either poor or common but it shined right up with a battle-stone.
And it took an experienced adventurer like Saundin to come up with that quick descent technique!
