Behold! Archdruid of Derpiness!

derp

Okay, I told Cat we had to fess up. Erm, about the whole … fruit thing. Apparently fruit is not the issue. You DO need to complete Arluin’s Request to move forward with the Suramar quest chain … but fruit does not come into it.

I railed and ranted, contacted customer support. Where is my fruit dammit! Luckily I kept combing forums and comments for any mention of Arluin’s Request. I finally found a comment stating that the quest is just buggy, it has nothing to do with fruit. Abandon it and try again they said.

Okay, this would make a third try, that ought to be lucky, right? RIGHT! I was finally given an option I hadn’t been given before and I’m in!

Not only that but I now have a cat form masquerade while in Suramar which sure helps with those few seconds of them beating the crap out of her while she’s changing forms, best thing ever.

I commented to Kam about my other brain derpiness. Logically I KNOW the odds of getting Cat a Legendary are VERY remote. I don’t do enough of the type of things that would probably gain her one. I can’t do Heroics over and over because I need a spotter for my mother. I can’t be in five man content and go, oh hey, pause the boss! Mom just ran out the front door without any clothes! I’ll be back! With my crappy DPS I probably could leave LFR without adversely affecting them.

So logically (yes, not my strong suit) I know Cat’s unlikely to get a Legendary but my not so logical side is refusing to let any alts get going for fear of them gaining one and breaking Cat’s heart. My alts are getting kind of pissed. I sense a revolt coming.

Rep remarked to me on the lengths it takes to acquire a Falcosaur Pet. My first thought was OMG, she knows who I am, she saw what I did! Yes, I  took one look at the Wowhead guide, saw the word pet and without reading the article ran off and slaughtered ALL the Falcosaurs in the world. Huh … no drop. You’d think there would be, I killed thousands of the mommies and little guys. Maybe I should read the article … ya’ think?

I’m going to blame all this on having the cold from hell all week. I’m not even going to try to pass this one off on Cat like I usually do. Complete derp … me.

Cat’s happy now anyway as she got another cool skin. I think this one was for doing a gazillion World Quests with her hidden skin on. She really likes this one. I keep thinking of a double-stuffed Oreo Cookie when I look at her but she’s happy so who cares.

No Fruit? No Fruit? No 7.1 Suramar Campaign for You!!!

nofruit

UPDATE: Thanks Vanthir, tried again today and was able to complete the quest and move on in helping the Nightfallen.

Well, it had to happen. I am seriously going mental over this. I’m sure everyone was looking forward to different aspects of 7.1. For me it was to be the continuation of the Suramar Campaign. I was so excited.

I hurried to Shal’Aran to get started. Cat was exalted with The Nightfallen, check. She has Good Suramaritan, Loremaster of Legion and Broken Isles Pathfinder Part 1. According to what I’d read she should be good to go. Nope. Nothing.

Apparently First Arcanist Thalyssra has received NO dark tidings. Everything’s just peachy. AAARRRGGGGHHHH! This is worse than the damn moose.

So here’s a warning. I  don’t know if this is the cause but I’m guessing it might be. I’ll try to do this without spoiling anything.

If you haven’t finished the pre 7.1 campaign when you get to the quest, Arcan’dor, Gift of the Ancient Magi, do not do as I did. Do not run excitedly in to Shal’Aran and turn in the quest. Look for Vanthir who will give you Arluin’s Request. Take that first! I didn’t see him standing there, don’t make that mistake!

Yeah, I don’t know if that’s why there will be no continuation of the Suramar Campaign for me but I feel like it’s a big possibility so don’t ignore Vanthir.

Cat changed her title to Salty in protest. After that she saw people in chat complaining about the “crappy” Legendary they’d just received in an emissary crate. Cat didn’t feel much like saving the day for anyone after that, neither did I.

She headed for the tavern. Sounds like a plan Cat.

Ya Happy Now?

Posted in General WoW with tags , , , on October 18, 2016 by tomeoftheancient

honor

I’ve had a lot of things to talk about but I’ve been afraid I’d descend into a rant. And no, not about Blizzard. But while on the topic of Blizzard, ya happy now Blizzard? You’ve created a nightmare here. Not kidding.

First it was going into dungeons with complete strangers for professions. Then it was Heroic Dungeons … again with STRANGERS … because the queues were too long for the regular ones. Do you know how much danger you put those poor people in Blizzard? Then it was LFR. Oh yeah, and hanging out in the sewers.

Now this. I don’t even know Cat anymore. She needed a fourth for her emissary quests, a PVP one was right beside her. She read the text, oh it won’t be that bad, I don’t HAVE to kill actual people to complete it and off she went.

There was a little problem with her logic, actual people were very happy to kill her. Cat, I hardly know you anymore!

hidden

Then there was this. I knew about hidden artifact skins so you’d think when I saw things like, shrieking can be heard coming from The Hinterlands, I would investigate. Oh no, not me. I was always on the way to check on a mission or something. I wouldn’t hear it again for days and then I’d have something else important to do. I FINALLY paid attention.

If you’re a Feral Druid and have a low frustration level like me this helped a lot when I thought I’d never find the little statues. Cat likes her Owly Cat look.

gullible

I’m making her wear that title for a while cause she really is gullible. The achievement that awards the title is the culmination of a series of quests she got suckered into for those scam artists in Stormheim, the Sixtrigger brothers. Jerks. So anyway she called out to Storheim to see if anyone else needed the final quest too. Someone in chat told her it was easy alone. She believed someone in chat … yeah … she deserves that title.

After an aborted attempt alone she knew she needed help but she didn’t want to leave as it was kind of a pain to get there. She was looking in custom groups when a Mage arrived on the scene. Oh great! Maybe two can do it and off Cat went! It didn’t occur to her that the Mage was just sightseeing.

It was not that easy with two either but it was done! Yay! She turned it in and thanked the Mage. The Mage didn’t turn it in, just said grats and left. The Mage had helped the Owly Cat just because. There are nice people out there! I’ll have to speak to my Warlocks because what they said about Mages is just not true.

We’ve been having fun in spite of her bizarre willingness to kill things other than people in PVP areas.

I’ll just go back to lurking on Twitter and blogs now. I should be good to communicate without fear again in about a month. Or not.

I Got your Moose Right Here Redux

Posted in General WoW with tags , , , , , on October 3, 2016 by tomeoftheancient

mymoose

Yes, I did a post on THAT moose. Yes, maybe I was a little bitter. Catwynn got so crazy she bought a chicken but all is well now. Cat’s got her moose. Mounting Made Easy is a leatherworking quest to obtain the pattern for this fine fellow. I’ve had it a while but didn’t want to try to complete it until my leatherworking was 800. How frustrating would that be?

So I studied. Then I became apprehensive. I read all the comments about people wanting to do severe damage to the evil, sadistic mastermind behind it.

Oh boy … not sounding good.

So this morning I thought I would just start it, there are checkpoints right? When I become hysterical with frustration I can take a break, right?

So I have my Stonehide Leather Barding so I won’t dismount when that little … moose runs me into mobs, check.

I have my Fighter Chow so that hopefully I don’t die when the little freak jumps us off cliffs, check, here goes nothing.

At many times during this ride I would display signs of insanity by doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome. I would smack myself in the head and refer to my favorite video by HeelvsBabyface. I’m sure there are many great guides out there and kudos to them all. Without your help I’d be riding into the night, maybe the morning too after that moose.

All I can say is I love checkpoints. A couple of times I succeeded by accidentally falling in the right direction. The whole thing took about 40 minutes.

Yay! Yay!

Congratulations Cat! Make your moose!

Cat? Cat? What’s wrong?

I don’t have the mats! I didn’t think to check!

So as it turns out the most frustrating part was scurrying all over trying to come up with 4 more Blood of Sargeras so Cat could actually make her Elderhorn Riding Harness.

Finally with the help of some drunk vikings she got her Bloods and it was done.

I know it’s over now and easy to say I kind of enjoyed it … but … I kind of did. What is unfair is today is laundry day, so yeah. I’m stuck here and Cat’s riding around Stormheim. Oh well, I guess she deserves it.
